We purchased this advent for the 2020 season. My kids loved it! Every day they were excited to read more and put the "puzzle" together. I didn't mind the roman numerals as we just used it as an extra learning tool. The only disappointment (2 of them) are that on days 19 and 20 the scripture reference is wrong. Both days read 1 Samuel and SHOULD read 2 Samuel. Again, we used this time as a learning tool and I had my kids look up the references and read them from the Bible itself...this is how the errors were discovered. Overall I recommend this advent! We enjoyed reading and learning about the "uncommon" people and ways that God brought us the Savior, Jesus!
First the quality of the cards were really nice. Great printing and paper. But mostly we loved these because of how we used them. We did this for our Advent calendar this year. Each night we opened a card. I had put them in little brown bags and clothes pinned them to string on our wall. As we read each card and learned the people in Jesus’s family I could see it was becoming ingrained in my preschoolers mind. He became excited to open up one each night and slowly build the puzzle. I did make a modification that we opened up the Jesus card on the 25th (it was originally to be placed in the 23rd) as we celebrate His arrival.
The verse, story and questions were short enough for a preschooler to listen but also deep enough for older family discussions.
This will become a family tradition for us for sure.
The quality of this product is amazing as is the creativity with which it is designed and even packaged. The order and shipping process was quick and smooth and well communicated. What a blessing to find this gem of a company and their amazing products!
I love these! My 4 and 2 year old both are engaged reading these. They are short, to the point, and so spot on theologically!
We have the Christ at the Center cards and the ABCs of Christmas cards and LOVE them! I'm just not as impressed with the Family Tree of Christ cards. The font is difficult to read due to small size and the background colors. And I'd love for the puzzle picture to be sequential, but it's random. The content was not as well-written as the other two resources we owned. Overall, it seems a decent first draft, but not the quality I expected after using the other two TT resources. I've found the ABCs of Christmas to be an awesome advent devotional for my kids! It would be just about perfect if it included a scripture reading option.
Hi Jennifer! Thanks so much for your feedback. I'm so glad you like the Christ at the Center and ABCs of Christmas ... I imagine that my writing skills have improved over the years (at least I hope so!). The Family Tree of Christ Cards were my first Christmas resource I ever created. I imagine it was less honed in at the time (though some people still go bonkers for it every year). Anyway, just wanted to say thanks! I'll keep this in mind for future printings!
